Sudden death from overwork

We’ve all heard the comment, “They’re working me to death.” And now there may be some truth to it. A recent study published in the journal, Hypertension, indicates that those of us who work more than 51 hours at the office each week are almost 30 percent more likely to have high blood pressure than those who work a normal 40 hours. More work leads to high blood pressure that is a major health concern.

In Japan’s high-pressure work culture, Karoshi (sudden death from overwork) is a concern. Americans work longer hours than do the Japanese so we should ease up a bit.

Stupid is as stupid does

Committing insurance fraud is stupid and most people that try it must be stupid.

Here’s proof:

Imagine crashing a car into a tree to get the insurance money....

Imagine videotaping it....

Imagine forgetting about the videotape and letting your angry ex-husband get it....

All the above happened and when the ex-husband gave the videotape to the police, felony charges resulted, restitution had to be paid, fines were paid and sentencing followed.

Here’s another:

This month a NJ man was sentenced for insurance fraud for “helping” his friend (who couldn’t keep up with his car payments) by stealing his car and setting it on fire. Of course, he couldn’t help but brag about his feat and a tipster alerted the authorities.

"In view of the fact that God limited the intelligence of man, it seems unfair that he did not also limit his stupidity."
-- Konrad Adenauer

The “Better Half” is often underinsured

In the “old days” before two-income households, most women had adequate insurance coverage. Now, however, with many households dependent upon the income generated by working women, adequate coverage has more to it. Women need higher-value life insurance policies and income protection and disability policies. Is it time for you to review your household’s “better-half” coverage?

The financial strength of insurance companies is an important consideration when taking out a policy. We use high-rated carriers.

When the lights go out...
All business, large and small, may face a time of interrupted business. Natural disasters, fires, and some temporary ones like road repair projects that alter traffic away from retail establishments. Sometimes these “temporary” interruptions last longer than anticipated and local officials can’t seem to get them done any quicker.

When your business is interrupted and revenue is reduced, are you covered by insurance? Business interruption insurance is important. Check with us and we’ll be happy to review the coverage you need.
